  • piston rod bearing

In one of my engines, one of the piston rod's bearings that is attached to the crankshaft has been sitting out of oil for about two years. As such, it is pretty much seized up and I was wondering if there was anyway to grease, lube or free up the bearing or take apart the crankshaft? I'd hate to pay for a new crankshaft.

Sure you could free it up, but it will probably come apart and scatter little pieces of metal throughout the motor doing all kinds of damage. Your call.

Sooo, anyone know of a better price than 375 + $40 for a complete rebuild with premium pistons?

No, not too much - too little. That auction ended without a sale, that's only the start price you mentioned, it doesn't mean anything.

It's just a WSM crank and top-end kit.

For what come sin that kit that is about as cheap as you are going to find you get a crank that sells here for 275 a gasket kit that sells for 60 and a top end that could go for 100 so you have over 400 in parts for 379 and Gary lists them all the time.

Thanks Seadoo max and I don't need to totally rebuild the freakin engine, just get a new crankshaft, pistons, gasket set, and pretty much what comes with that kit. Plus, you're right seadoo max, I contacted the company that is doing those kits and they say that they usually have a kit for each seadoo engine, 580, 650, 720, and 800 going all the time.
