    whats so hard about returning them, and getting the ones that fit your year? no need to deal w/ all this accelerator crap. u have the wrong carbs. just get the correct ones.

      He has the correct ones.

      I doubt SD even makes or sells the older model carbs anymore. It is typicall of SD to upgrade parts over the years and discontinue the older stuff. Anyway, those carbs will actually work better with better fuel milage than the old carbs.

        Bill, Just to clarify.

        The carbs I took off my '97 GSX - no accelerator pump.
        The replacement carbs I got from Mikuni for my '97 GSX - have an accelerator pump.

        If I jet the replacement carbs the same way the old carbs are jetted (to parts manual spec.), I believe I will have a rich mixture due to the addition of a a/c pump. You are the expert. If you tell me the replacement carbs will work jetted to parts manual specifications, I will install them tomorrow and let you know how it turns out.

          They should be jetted correctly for the accellerator pumps. No way you should jet them for the old carb setup without accellerator pumps. Read back a few posts. I gave you the jetting sizes for a set of accellerator pump carbs on a 787. The carbs you bought should be jetted that way or very close to that.
