  • Holes in 718/720 Pistons

I just took apart my 720 last night, and upon inspection of the pistons I noticed that there are strategically placed hole on either side of the piston. They are below the ring lands, and I am pretty sure they are there to promot e lubrication.

They are chamferred, but I don't think they are factory...

    Thoughts?

They probably are dremeled into the piston, as 720's do not have those intake boost port holes in them like 787 pistons do.
It is to promote better lubrication and cooling to the bearing and the underside of the piston crown. If you notice, it aligns with the boost port in the sleeve.
