2000 GTX 951-High Revs, NO Go

I just bought a 2000 GTX (951). I you pull the trottle down you get a high rev but vary little movement. If you start nice a slow and the bike plane it runs fine. Anyone know what is wrong. Ive been told maybe the wear ring needs replacement. How do I know if this is the proublem. Thank you for your help!

Wear ring or impeller problem makes sense. You should be able to remove the intake grate with a few small bolts, take a feeler guage and slide it beside the impeller and wear ring on all blades. I believe the clearance should be 10 thousands or less? Also check the blades and make sure they are not damaged on the leading edge, as this will cause a huge cavitation when powering up. Cavitation on the impeller wiil look like corrision on a stainless steel prop.

Or the ride shoe needs sealant. Or the pump seal is shot.
