95 GTX beeps

This weekend i let my brother take out the ski and he said it ran great all day. but when he went to take it out of the water he said it started beeping and would not shut off with the start/stop button. any ideas. it was full of oil and everything was he says.

sure its a 95 ? the only beep would be the overheat buzzer on that

yep im sure its a 95 and i thought it was weird too because it doesnt have DESS. but he sasid it was beeping. but why would that cause it not to shut down?

could be a bad start stop button

The beeper did not keep it from shutting down.

Did he start the motor out of the water and did it start "glowplugging" and have the engine runaway to high rpm all by itself?
Is that what happened? Because if so, it would not shut off by pulling the tether or pushing the stop button.

no it was in the water he was just about to put it on the trailer and he went to shut it down to pull up by the dock and it would shut down by pressing the button he paniced and hit the gas a whipped it around he ended up just pulling off the lanyard and it shut down but my kill swtich broke. i know that the beeps didnt stop it from shutting down but just wondering what the beeps were from. if i were the one riding it i could give more info but this is all i have to work with.

Two items are involved here. One is the start stop switch, the other is the ignition. Pushing the stop switch will ground out the ignition to kill the motor. Check all of the ground wires around the coil for rusty connections..
