It sounds like the float is soaked with fuel and needs to be replaced. The float is in the fuel pick up where all the fuel lines come out of the fuel tank after years of use the floats soak up fuel and become to heavy to float this will make the gauge read empty all the time. At least this is what was wrong with my ski.

Thanks for the tip. That would make total sence because i filled the tank up to high, it must have soaked the float.

The floats over time loose the coating on them and then start to soak up the fuel and then they cant float. It is not something that happends over night but I think you can buy just the float if you look around I got stuck buying the hole fuel pick up for $120.

There are normally about three to four things that can go wrong with a faulty fuel baffel.

The magnet and/or float either falls out the bottom of the baffel and is in the gas tank ( espically on older models) , or the float is heavy with gasoline trapped inside of it, or the circuit board quits signaling for whatever reason, or the resistor that is embedded in the top of the baffel goes bad.

So, just changing a float will not always fix a fuel sender problem. But, it is the cheapest way out if it works.
