  • 92 SeaDoo GTS - Carb Adjustment Help...

I have the Clymer's manual, and though it talks about how to adjust the low speed jet, it does not mention much about the high speed jet.

Now... my high speed jet screw is MISSING the limiter cap, which limits it to 1/4 of a turn.... I removed the high speed jet screw to spray some carb. cleaner in there.... Now, I have no idea where to set that screw (how many turns from seated position), or how I would even go about adjusting it.

    1. What is a good 'starting' position for the high speed jet?:emoticonc
    2. How would I go about adjusting it?

HELP !!! and Thank you in advance.

    Ed.

Re: 92 SeaDoo GTS - Carb Adjustment Help...

Thanks. So I won't have to worry about adjusting it? or is the starting position all the way 'seated'?

      1. Can my performance issues be related to the setting of high speed and/or low speed jets?
      2. Why all of a sudden?

      3. At last, I removed both the low speed, and high speed screws, blew some carb cleaner in there (and in the throat), then blew it out with compressed air. I have not had a chance to try it out yet.... Could this have helped, or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

      Thanks,

      Ed.

Carb cleaner has no place in an assembled carbureator. Wishfull thinking.

Closed means seated. You should never need to adjust the high speed adjuster on a stock Sea Doo.

The low speed adjusters need to be adjusted to get good accelleration. Almost every Sea Doo model calls for between 1 turn out and 1.75 turns out for low speed adjusters. Adjust them as necessary to get good accelleration without bogging or hesitations. The only other adjustment is the idle speed, adjusted by turning the idle speed adjuster in or out to raise or lower the idle speed.
