  • 97 spx top end replacement

Is it possible to replace the top end on a 97 spx without removing the engine from the ski? Are there top end replacement instructions posted somewhere?

Get an OEM Service Manual for that. It's not recommended because you skip a lot of important steps like pressure checking the block - but yes it's possible to do.

Be sure to check out the SBT Tech Videos- I have them all downloaded and watched them a few times...they are THE BEST. If you have ANY doubt about the inside of a PWC motor, you won't after watching the videos.
Definitely a must have before you start asking questions about motor stuff.:emoticont

It's easy enough to do, but watch those needle bearings:emoticons Make sure you count them to make sure one didn't fall into the case.......

Thanks for the advice. I'll ensure I watch the videos; take the engine out of the ski so I can pressure test the block; and I'll count the needle bearings:)
