Lanyard headache

Alright fellows,
I've got a 2001 rx-di and i rode it this morning no problems whatsoever. I pull it out of the water go get something to eat and when I put it back in the water all i get is one long beep when i put the lanyard on. Last week I lost my lanyard/ left it on my bumper and drove off. So i went to get another one and the seadoo place i went to only had "atlantis" lanyards. Well the guy owed me one so he gave it to me free after programming it. Well the peice of crap doesn't fit on the the post really well but well enough to start the ski and go with it. Could it be the low quality lanyard or what could possibly be the problem. I fooled with the stupid thing for 20 minutes blowing on it and wiggling it on the post still the same response one beep. Any ideas???

take it back to the dealer and get the OEM one , there prob open on tuesday

Let's tie all our bad lanyards together into a *cat-o-nine-badlanyard-tails* and find the guy who designed it and beat him with it.

Do Yamahas have the same troubles like this?

i hear ya on that one....let him get out to the middle of the lake and go to put the lanyard back on and all it do is one long beep because of a faulty lanyard.
