Remove the carbs and clean the internal fuel filter in each carb.

One side of your carbs have the diaphram and the other holds the filter. You must remove the 4 screws and under the cover is a very small mesh filter.

It is under the rubber flat gasket on the backside of the carbureator. Keep looking, you will find it. It is down in a hole and you must pull it out to remove it.

There should also be a separate metal screen, cleanable type fuel filter for each engine on the firewall.

chkd filters no prob, one motor tachs fine, other motor try to tach above five tach and engine will rev up and down, no misfire, just surging

You removed the carbs and checked the filters inside of them?

Clipped the sparkplug wires? Checked for an exhaust leak? Any signs of water inside the motor, like from a blown base gasket?

no on plug wires, no onexhaust leak, had leak on other motor, been fixed, no excess water/engine compartment
