My 12volt low battery lite came on after my machine sat for a few weeks, it started ok but after running for 25 minutes it wouldn'd go off. I had to charge the battery to get it to go off. Does the gtx-rfi have some kind of an alternator or magneto that is supposed to charge the battery, I called the dealer and they said no it wouldn't charge the battery you have to charge it yourself. Is this true, also are there any tricks for getting the battery cables back on as I have replaced the battery this spring and can't get them back on.
The battery placement is horrible as is the gas filler we don't have a marina on our lake and everyone uses 5 gal cans. If anyone has any better ideas i'm all ears.

    Thanks, Ken

well your dealer guy is a moron lol your ski has a charging system if its not charging the thing that goes bad the most is the rectifer . but since its expencive you should run a few test to see if the stator is putting out .

Actually, you DO need to charge the battery manually if it gets too low. Yes there is a charging system, but it only puts out milliamps and it would take several hours just to build up a little charge in a low battery. The charging system is only there to maintain the battery's state of charge, not to be a subsitute for a battery tender.
Many of the rectifier, solenoid and starter motor problems would be avoided if eveyone kept their batteries fully charged up between uses of their pwc's. It is extremely hard on the electrical system to start skis with low batteries.
