  • 96XP Porpoising ??

I've got the three degree trim tabs and beachhouse sponsons but I'm still getting a little bit of porpoising on top end. Its not bad but I know its scrubbing off a little speed. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am, thats the problem, when its trimmed all the way up, bounce bounce bounce. Yes it will stop if you trim it down, but you dont get the speed out of it.

any ski will bounce with the trim all the way up . you can ajust the trim rod so you dont bounce so much .

There are many positions that you can set your trim at. When you find the sweet spot, you can achieve maximum speed without bouncing. Body english plays a big role too. try standing and weighting the handlebars by leaning forward just enough to stop porposing.

The only other method that I know of is to buy a longer hulled pwc. If you extend the rideplate or trim tabs, it will stop the porposing, but will increase drag, thus lose speed.

You might try thin shimms under the 3 degree trim tabs......

Wrong, Ive got a 97 GSX that runs wide open with the trim all the way up. Not a hint of porpoising.

Bill are you saying to add more angle with the trim shims or less angle?

More angle at the rear edge of the trim tab.
