  • Correct way of putting in circlips

My OEM manual says to insert the circlip so that the 'gap' is at 6 o'clock. Looking at the instruction for the WSM platinum pistons i have bought, it says that the circlips should be inserted with the 'gap' at 12 o'clock (which the complete oppostite!) What is the correct positioning for the circlip gap?

    Thanks:)

Follow the piston manufacturer's instructions. The OEM manual is intended for OEM parts; the pistons that you bought came with their own instructions, follow those.

i always put the C clip at 6 Oclock . wsm says 12 it works the same as 6 what you do not want is the C clip to be at 3 or 9 that would let it compress when the piston goes up or down and pop out .
