Question for tech

Just a quick one-In you engine tips rebuild video (at the 50 second mark) the guy puts a black substance around the semi circular park of the crankcase where the crank bearing and end seal will eventually sit. My OEM manual doesn't specify that anything should be put here-Is this sealant to improve the overall sealing of the engine at the end seals, or just some bearing grease. Thanks for your help:emoticont

It's case sealer, and always a good idea on the outer lips.

do you also use case sealer for the 2 middle bearings that seal the rotary valve area?

No, bearings do not get sealer, only seals.
