Picked up a 95 SP for free today, not running. The oil line came loose from oil tank which leads to bottom of crank case. It was running but not fast and engine stopped. Pulled the plugs, sprayed lube in cylynders and it tuned over, but would not start. Mechanic said when he tried, the engine seized, and made "screaching" sound. I pulled the top of the head off, and can turn by hand, pistons move. The rotary valve is turning as well. The pump wear ring is in good shape and shows no sign of binding. It is not as easy to turn as my XP, but it does turn. Sometimes I have to turn it the other way to get it to move. What else should I check, before removing motor and tearing it down?
