  • No Spark 96 Xp

Just put my new sbt engine in, and I was getting a weak spark, and gas but no combustion. So I waited a day or two to look into it. Then when I checked there was no spark. Next I checked the battery when cranking and I had a steady 12 volts. I clipped the spark plug ends and used dielectric grease, checked all the fused with a fuse checker. cleaned all electrical connecters, made sure the ground from the coil was good. Still no spark. So I also pulled the front cover off to check the ignition pick-up in case I overlooked it when transfering parts. I took some pics of it, is there anyway to test it with a multimeter? It does not appear to be loose. Is there a way I can check the cdi without replacing it? I did not find anything with the search bar. Thanks in advance.

stator has nothen to do with spark . your mpem and CDI and battery and coil all need to be checked .

12V means the battery is dead/bad or the ignition coil is bad, dragging the voltage down. 12.5v is the bare min. It should be around 13v.

Yes, you just touch to the battery terminals.
