  • Flywheel alignmet 99 GTX-RFI starter

    Q1

I did some searching on here and found out you don't have to align the Magnito (MAG) with the flywheel on my ski (1999 GTX-RFI). Per SBT the motor gets its spark signal form the ring gear, so do you have to set the ring gear in a certin position when installing it?

    Q2

Where is the positive lead for the starter? I did not take this thing apart and just want to make sure I am hooking the (+) side in the right place. And where do you attach the (-) ground cable on the starter?

Thank you in advance for the help

Re: Flywheel alignmet 99 GTX-RFI starter

Reading the install guide and just picking up the parts will probably help you with a lot of the basic questions. The screw on the side of the starter is the positive lead connection. The ring gear (flywheel) is keyed to the crankshaft, it only goes on one way.
