I have a 1993 seasoo xp with the stock engine I believe it is a 650 /657. According to one rescorce it was rated at 55 hp. Now however I see the same engine in a 1995 spx rated at 80 hp? I am slightly confused. If it is infact the same engine where did the 25 horses go, and is there a way to modify this ski to get more bang for my buck. I know the spx is faster, because I have raced it with a friend on the lake and I got my cookies handed to me:)
I have to replace the engine in the xp ski since it locked up due to a bad oil pump, and I would like to get a little more power out of it, I origially thought is was a 587 motor but now I see it is the 657 motor. So how does the same motor produce the different power in different skies. the spx and the xp are both 8 ft skies with the same basic body.
also just for fun, could someone outline for me the diffence between the xp, the sp, and the spx ( or sxp or whatever)
Thanks
PS the 95 spx said "Sport" on it I think? thoughts anyone.
Thanks also to everyone for their insite on my previous posts, I 've got all my skies running great now.
