  • Carbon seal fracture?

Could someone school on why a new WSM carbon seal would fracture? I almost lost the boat on this one.
This is on a 96 Speedster, and similar to a 96xp.

    Re: Carbon seal fracture?

Because the WSM carbon seal is a piece of crap!!!!!I had all kinds of strange problems with them, some were like a plastic material, and they melted in less than a minute while flushing the ski's.

Do yourself a favor use an OEM carbon seal...cheap insurance!

Thanks for the quick reply John.

I'd thought I was buying OEM, till it arrived. It' failed within 2hrs of installation.
It's winterized now, so I'll get it in march
