  • Winterize 05 Sea-Doo RXT

    HI,

Bought my first PWC at the end of the season here in Maine. Ran my 05 RXT for about a month in fresh water before getting it ready for winter storage.

What exactly do I need to do to store this thing where it is practically new? I have drained the water from the plugs in the back. I've read in other threads about filling with anti-freeze, etc. Do I need to change the pump oil? Fog the engine? It probably has less than 30 hours of engine time at this point.

    Thanks,
    Rick

You'll definately need to drain your intercooler. Some retain water and some don't. Use a normal flushing procedure and then pull the 2 hoses from the front of intercooler, pour non-tox into top hose 'til it comes out lower fitting of cooler. You'll need to replace one Oetiker clamp. Or use a s.s. hose clamp. Beyond that my winterizing methods differ from others on this site but the results are still the same. Good Luck.

Thanks ! I think this year, I'm gonna have somebody who has experience do this. Next year, I'll have time to study up a bit more.

      Thanks again.
