  • Group K Air-Fuel Separator

    Bill,
Ever used the the air-fuel serparator from group k? They have an aritcle on the HX, where they say the problems with low fuel amounts in the tank are reduced with the air fuel seperator. My HX runs great, until I get below 1/2 tank, then if take to many hard turns/jumps it bogs out, until I ride "normal" for a minute or so, or fillup the tank..I thought about fuel foam, but you said that breaks down quickly...

Good to hear Bill thinks it is a good product. I just finished putting one
on my GP1200. Won't be able to try it for 4 or 5 months though :(

Bill, is the air-fuel sperator supposed to come with a fuel pump?

You can buy the seperator with or without the fuel pump. If you have a basically mild recreational watercraft, the oem fuel pump should surfice, but if you have a very modified watercraft motor, you may need an extra fuel pump. I sell the high volume pulse fuel pumps for $52.00 each, and electrical high volume Holley fuel pumps for $105.00 each.

I think I'm in the middle somwhere, factory pipe, head, R&d intake, prop..I'll take the pulse fuel pump, can you add it onto my order or do I have to call in??

Also, how does the seperator work? I was playing around with it and noticed there isn't any check valves/restrictions on which way I can blow air thru it.

What prevents fuel from entering the center fuel inlets and exiting out the return line instead of heading into the carbs? Or does it just pressurize the lines into and out of the carbs, the carbs are then gravity feed with fuel? I'm assumming the seperator should be mounted in a vertical postion(long way up/down) right?

                      John,
I can send you the fuel pump, no problem.

There are no check valves in a fuel canister. They are in the fuel pump.

If you could supply me with a fax number, I can send you detailed installation instructions.

                        Re: Group K Air-Fuel Separator

I put one on my xpl. Glad I did it. Peace of mind that the only thing going into my carbs is fuel and no air. Works great when your down to 2 bars or less. Thats why seadoos run their best when they are low on fuel, hahaha.
Get the external fuel pump and do a dual fuel line feed to your carbs, that way you don't have to stagger jettings.

                            Thanks.....

Bill, would also have the UMI steering template used to cut the hole in the HX hood? I checked out the UMI website, they have the instructions, but not the template where to drill the hole... Can I just eyeball it? (haven't look at the hood yet, too cold in the garage)

No, I do not have a template. Sorry.
