  • Screw driver in engine?

I have a SBT engine in my shop that is out of warrenty. It lost compression on the rear cylinder. I took it apart and looks like whoever assemebled it used a screw driver to hold the motor when they installed the pto and flywheel. The engine is 100 over all ready. The damage is to the piston and clyinder wall and rave valve. Should I replace the top end or just resleeve that clyinder.

i dont think they use a scew driver at sbt lol , what prob, happin is a ring broke or bearing let go and thats what you see . you should pull it all apart then deside what you need to replace . if the other cyl is in perfect shape you can still use it but sould keep with the same size piston , if your going to resleve the one side and go stock again then do both .

As far as i know, SBT don't install the PTO or magneto flyewheel. Maybe you should be asking the person who assembled the PTO and magneto flywheels onto the engine-maybe this was a dealer/rebuild shop....SBT only ship an engine without the flywheels attached.....it is up to the recipient of that engine to do the rest.

I really doubt that it was part of a screwdriver that was in the engine. I can't see the engine lasting even seconds with a screwdriver inside.

I talked to him on the phone - he meant whoever installed, not assembled. He's taken care of.
