  • reading the spark plug color

    Hello all,
Can anyone post a photo guide for reading the spark plug color and condition so myself and others can learn how to tell if the engine is running right.

Re: reading the spark plug color

I agree, but some pics of plugs off of a sea doo. I had a post a while back and was shown links to sites of spark plug readings but looking at different styles of plugs, some 4 stroke mostly didnt help much, just gave a ballpark reading.

You are right, but I have seen too many post of lost cylinders that could have been prevented just by knowing what looks lean and what looks good.

      2 stroke mostly.

Great artical. reading plugs is not brand specific, so this will get you where you want to be.

I prefer this page. Also, not only do you look at what was typed in the other pages, but you must also look at the ring on the bottom on your porcelain.
