Once the bearings (needle, ball, roller) are touched with a magnet, they tend to "stick" to the race, (in this case, the con-rod and the wrist pin) and then they are no longer rolling, and will wear out in a short time, resulting in total destruction of the engine/cylinder.

Thanks for all the help with 1996 GTX. Went ahead and bought tools to work on bottum end and found that a small piece of metal ,looked like a piece of a hose clamp had entered engine. After motor totally torn down I could really see the path the metal fragment took. Built motor and installed. Has 45 mins. on flush kit
and 30 mins in water Runs great. Snowed here today 30 mins was all I could take. Thanks Again MRG120.......
