96 xp trouble

I need some advice, my 96 xp would run for a couple of minutes and then die. It has a new stator carbs rebuilt, it will restart if you let it set for awhile but its like it loses fire to the engine, motor has 150lbs of cylinder pressure and runs good when it does run. Could this be an mpem problem? is they a way I could check it? HELP!!!!!!!!!
