i have a 99 gsx. i lost my lanyard today and tried to use my friends from his xp. they both looked the same. but mine won't turn over with his. is there a code or chip built in each one?

The skis that have the D.E.S.S. are all coded. The older Sea-doos are not. -

Yes they are programed with the mpem as a theft deterrent system and are not interchangable around a $50.00 replacement at any Sea Doo dealer.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.
