i had someone bring me a gsx limited with a 951 that had been sunk in the ocean, the motor was hyrdo locked. i installed an sbt motor, one of the cylinders was getting any fuel form the carb, i installed two new oem sea doo carbs. i put the ski back together, now it wont start and makes a huge backfire noise, i researched on here and thought that maybe i had the magneto cup on the flywheel wrong. i pulled the flywheel cover tonight and it is correct the magnet is to the left of the hole in the flywheel and i can still see the magic marker marks i used before i seperated the two, so i know that is right. what else could be causing the ski to backfire like this, i have had other skis backfire on me before, but this is as loud as a cannon. im stumped.

Re: 951 back firing problem
If the cup is correct, it's either the wrong flywheel & stator combo (if one or both had been changed) or the MPEM is bad.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.
