Guys:
I have a 1996 GTI that runs great. I've noticed a strong fuel smell in the engine compartment, but no fuel puddles. Also noticed what seems to be high fuel consumption--if we're out cruising around, the guage can go from full to 3/8 in less than an hour. Any ideas on where to start checking?
Also learned the hard way that the filler tube overflow dumps straight into the engine compartment...:emoticonn ...is this a design defect or is something broken?
