  • 717 Breakin

Started the breakin procedure per SBT on Saturday and ski was real sluggest with plugs fowling. Plugs were very wet with black oil. I rode it for 30 minutes varying throttle to about 20% and shut down to cool.

I mixed 13 oz oil with approx 6.5 gallon of gas plus filled the oil injection as normal. It seems way to rich. What should I do?

Make sure your oil pump is adjusted correctly:

Make sure you are using the correct NGK BR8ES plugs gapped to about 0.024"

Where are your carbs currently set? Stock setting are 1 1/4 turns out low, 0 turns out high.

I'll check the oil pump setting per the article and also the plug gaps. I didn't adjust the carb settings with the new engine. They are stock. Should I need to adjust?

Sounds more like the oil pump needs adjustment.

They do not need to be adjusted from stock settings.
