Hours of use to rebuild-951

Just bought a 2000 XP, going to replace the topend and was wondering when [total hours]to do a bottom end overhaul? Drive/Pump schedule? I am new to seadooing, what a blast!
Also a seadoo dealer mentioned on the non-DI 951's there is an airbox mod? and with richer jetting, to get a boost in the take-off.
Anyone out there how what juicy mods to do to this gal?
Any help sure would be appreciated
