  • 1995 Sea Doo SPX - No power when put in the water

I've got a 1995 Sea Doo SPX. When I have it out of the water and start it up the motor revs up to normal operating levels, but when I put it in the water I can only get it to go about 1/8 throttle and no more than that. I can pull full throttle but it still doesn't get any more than 1/8 throttle power. In other words it loses power when I put it in the water but out of the water it runs fine. Any ideas what might be causing this ?

Yeah, you need to rebuild your carbureators so it runs good again. BTW, all pwc's seem to run great on the trailer under no load.

Thanks Bill for the fast response.

      I'll give that a try.

        Bill,

Just wanted to update you on your recommendation.
I took my Sea Doo in to have it diagnosed and sure enough it was the carburetor like you said. They rebuilt them, added new filters and I took it to the lake to test drive it. It runs just like new. Thanks for your advice.
