Rotary Valve Timing

I just purchased (2) 717 Rotax From SBT for a Sea-Doo boat? The problem is do I use a degree wheel to set the timing or the ridge mark? I was told all 717 are set at 147? I compared the degree wheel to the ridge mark and they are not the same? I guess I"m having a hard time trying to identify what motor I have.

You always use a degree wheel. Yes they are all 147.
