  • carb trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!

so i got a 91 sea doo bombardier with rotax engine, i took the carbs off from the block and there is this plate like a half moon shape flat steel plate that rotates with the crankshaft that blocks the intake ports at the block, at certain times, i think it is for the oil injection, but im not sure, does this piece have to be clocked with the motor, if so how do you do it? and have you ever seen a lot of play in the throttle plate rods where the butterfly attaches.

    please somebody help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

half moon shaped piece of metal is the rotary valve and yes it is "timed" so to speak. For more info on setting in in the right time check SBT's engine installation instructions. It'll show you pretty well. The throttle plate should not have very much play, but not uncommon considering the year.
