  • 94 Speedster Ride-Shoe Removal?????

Does anyone know how to remove the ride-shoe on a 94 Speedster? I've got all the screws out, but there is lots of real tough sealer holding it to the hull so it does not want to budge.

    Use Heat-Gun?

    Bottle-Jack?

Bottle jack and a putty knife. Jack it down a bit and remove as much of the silicone as possible, jack it down a little more, remove more.. repeat.

Why are you removing the shoe?

Fixing stress cracks and catostropic fiberglass failure on inside hull ribs.

I've got water in between hull shell - When I took the screws out of the shoe, it weeped a lot of water.

      Thanks for your reply

EESH.. Have fun getting the hull dried out if it's in between the layers..

I've had the damaged areas opened and drying for 1 month, but as an after thought, since I saw the water weeping through the screw holes I should drop the shoe and see what is going on = See if there is any more water trapped before I re-glass the structural failures.

          Thanks for all the help.
