98 seadoo xp Limited die's out when accelerated in the water

when I bout the ski it was running good. after a wile the engine died out. I restarted and it runs OK in idle, if I accelerate it runs ok for few second it reaches about 40 mph and then the rpm drops and does not go above 15-20 mph or the engine die's out. It does this ever since. If anyone have any idea what could cause this, any help is appreciated. Thank's

Sounds like you are having a fuel delivery issue. Probably time to have the carbs rebuilt and the fuel system (selector valve) cleaned out.

Hopefully, you have not been seizing the motor when it's dying out there.. Do a compression test and post up the #'s on this thread.

A compression gauge is screwed into the spark plug holes and the engine is cranked over to see how much compression can be built up in each cylinder. If compression is below spec then the engine will need repair.
