  • Can I update an aluminum pump with plastic

Does any one know if an aluminum pump body can be updated to a plastic body. I have an older pump that has a few good size nicks in the stator veins. I have a plastic pump with bronze stator in super condition.
Every thing looks ok except the nozzle. The older alumni nozzle ears have a .020 gap mounting to the plastic body. I only have the plastic stator so I will have to swap every thing else.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks

      The pump housing will work.

In addition to the pump housing you will need the following parts to complete the pump assembly <unless you already have them>. (quantities required)
      FITTING-PUMP 293700019 (1)
      FITTING-BAILER 293700017 (2)
      OUTLET-WATER 271000972 (1)

Depending on your hull, you may need to replace the mounting studs with longer ones.
      STUD-M10 211300015 (4)

And you will need to use oversize flat washers on the plastic tabs of the pump mountings.
      WASHER-FLAT 234001600 (4)

Additionally you may want to add these parts to complete the upgrade.
      impeller cover 271000895 (1)
      spring, anti-rattle 271000973 (1)
      pusher, anti-rattle 271000978 (1)
