1996 Sea Doo GSX

I'm looking at a 1996 Sea Doo GSX this weekend and want to take a compression reading. The engine is a 787 and was hoping someone can shed some light (or supply a helpful link) on a good engine compression reading I should be looking for? Thanks

A good compression reading is EVEN.. or within 10% of eachother. Factory compression from a 787 motor is 150, on a calibrated gauge.

I'm not too familiar with the Sea Doo GSX model and was hoping to get some feedback on that model. The Good, Bad etc. Thanks

Good ski.. The 787 powerplant in them is one of the most solid that sea-doo ever made.. Pretty playful ski, and a little more stable than the XP version of that year.

It's all about how it has been maintained..

Hey a tip that my Seadoo dealer told me..

Hold your throttle wide open when you do your compression test.. I had a new SBT motor that only hit 124..

And the Seadoo tech explained that you have to hold it WOT to get enough air in for a more accurate test.
