  • Plug wire connection to coil - '96 GTX

There's a small retaining clip on each of the spark plug wire connections to the coil in the ignition box. I'm changing out the ignition box cover because the locking tabs are broken so I'll have to separate the wires and coil. When I R&R the plug wires to the coil, I'm sure I'll mess up the retaining clips.

The problem is I can't seem to find the retaining clips on any of the online parts diagrams (including SeaDoo.com.) I've got to believe this part is pretty common across the various Sea-Doo models. I've even called a dealer with no luck. I'm beginning to doubt my sanity. Maybe too much leaning into the engine compartment and breathing fumes has fried my brain!

If anyone knows the part number I would be very grateful for the information.

    Thanks!

You can't order just the clips.. Sucks huh! All of mine are broken. Time to get creative with electrical tape..

Do I have to buy the coil or a set of wires? In other words, which service kit do they come with?

      Thanks,

After some more research and visits to dealers, I've given up. The part is actually a single clip that spans both spark plug wire holes in the coil and retains both at the same time.

Looks like creative use of tape (suggested above) or even better, a tie-strap will have to do.

how about a little bit of 5 minute epoxy on each wire?

I'd use the tape or tie strap
