I have a 97 Seadoo GTX. Took it out to the lake a couple of days ago and it ran fine for a short time. then as I idled out past the "no wake area" I gave it some throttle and the engine reved up high but the there was no thrust.
If I throttle up slowly, I accelerate to about 3500 RPM. Beyond 3500 RPM, the engine revs to about7000-7500RPM, like it was not in water, and the speed remains like I was revving 3500 RPM (very very slow).
Is there a clutch or something similar that needs to be replaced? I have had the carbs rebuilt about 2 weeks ago and the engine seems to run fine...but no thrust.
