  • 1996 Sea Doo GTI starting problem

I thought I had a starter solenoid problem....replaced it with a new one and got a new battery but still having the same problem. I can bypass the starter solenoid to get the starter to turn over. Whats next to check or replace?
The fuel gauge seems to come on and off during the start process too. Does the DSS security function go bad often?

When you put on the lanyard, does the ski go beep beep?

If so, then you have a power or ground issue that needs to be resolved... If not, then your DESS post is a likely suspect..

    All the fuses are good?

You are right! The post is having problems. Do you happen to know if its possible to replace it with some non DESS system? I dont need the security but still need the ability for it to shut it down if I fall off.

see the other thread about that answer... Posts don't fail that often, and are fairly easy to change, not too expensive either.
