installing rotary shaft into engine casing

how far does the rotary shaft need to be banged into the upper engine casing? until it bottoms out? its a 95 xp 720 motor

BANGED?? It should never be banged.. You use a press to seat it, otherwise you run the HIGH risk of damaging a bearing..

Don't forget to replace the RV seal, and put back in the large c-clip.
