Major crank problem

Ok i just ordered a crank for a 657x because thats what my flywheel cover says my motor is. Well i ran the crank case half part numbers and the motor is a 717, so now my question is can i use a 657x crank in a 717?

AH! Well, forget my other post about the front cover could be wrong... It is!

No, you cannot interchange the cranks. If you bought it from SBT, call them up.. They may be nice enough to work with you considering the situation..

Ok, thank you for that catch by the way, never would have guessed that the parts would have been changed around. I got the outer seals and seal cage from them also. I know the outer seals are interchangeable, but is the seal cage, they said it was just wana make sure?

The seal cage?? You mean the metal roll bar that goes over the RV Gear? If so, then yes.. Don't forget to keep the old metal seal retainer too (the metal disk).. You'll need that.

ok, thats the metal ring at the end of the crank, right?
