  • 1999 xp limited wont run over 25 mph

    i have a 1999 xp limited i bought used didnt run when i bought it, i got it running but it wont run over 25-30 mph and about 3500 rpm it runs good but only about 1/4 throttle, a friend said there's two keys one is a training key, could this be my problem, wrong key? i only have one key and if so do i have to bring ski to dealer for new key??? $70

    Why wasn't it running when you bought it? what did you do to make it run?

    Make sure you have BR8ES plugs.. The "R" in the plug type is important..

      the on-off-res was broke and trim, it has right plugs, i would like to know about extra key, also is there a high circuit in carbs that could be clogged? i can rebuild but, wanted to do that last, thanks...

        THe learning key wasn't used on that year.. It didn't come out until the DI.

        I would say time for a carb rebuild / cleaning. The internal filters are probably clogged.
