  • 94 XP rotary valve

I have a 94 XP and an SBT engine on the way. I am looking for a new rotary valve and NO ONE is giving me a warm fuzzy on whether I need a 147 degree valve or a 159 degree valve. The engine is a 657 X.
I put a 159 in the last engine and after 20 hours had to send it back. I don't think this was related, but I'm no guru on this stuff. Please shed some light on this.
Also, what is the difference between an XP and an XPI for 94, because this seems to be the difference in the RV's.
    Thanks.

    159. We have them for $35.

I believe the I models were designated International? Not too sure of the differences if any. Bill may have more info.

"I" stands for international. There were some very slight differences between I models and non I models, but I don't remember all of what was different.

I think the orginal 657X motor had a 147 degree valve from the factory. But either valve will work and neither will cause you any harm in your motor.
