  • 98 GSX fuel line ????

I want to replace the factory gray lines. How in the world do you get at the lines from the selector valve to the top of the tank? You can hardly see them let alone get at them to replace.

You will have to remove the selector valve.
    Then remove the old lines.
Put new lines on and re-install the selector valve.
Don't forget to clean the valve!
A drop of w-d40 inside of it will lube it up after cleaning.

Fireball is correct. Pull the selector valve. Clean with throtle body cleaner, q-tips and blow out with compressed air while turning the valve to each position. Make sure the air flow is good on both the reserve and normal running position. As for the hose swap, I did this on my GSX and simply cut the metal clamps off with wire cutters and slit the gray hose with razor blade then pulled off. The new 1/4 fuel line will push right down on the nipples and you can use plastic cable ties to tighten. It doesn't require much pressure at all to hold them there. The metal hose clamps are nice but not absolutely necessary. Just remember in the future if you ever have fuel problems to take a peek to make sure hoses are still in place. I've not had any of mine come off in years of riding.
