  • New engine no compression

I ordered a replacement engine for my '01 GTX RFI (787) from SBT.
I've been working with engines for the past 35 yrs. And I know the importance of following guidelines on breaking engines in - Of which I followed SBT's meticulously.

The engine currently has 7hrs on it. I have not gone to WOT yet.
The engine runs good with good power.
Checking after 2 hrs. I found 115# on the back and 120# on the front.
I was expecting something in the 130-150 range. I've used two different gauges I haven't seen any increase.

I checked the oil pump output at injectors prior to firing up.
Oil is dropping normally in tank.
Plugs seem a bit oily if anyting, so I know I have been getting enough oil.

I Believe I did everything properly , and I have a new engine without good compression
where do I go from here?

What is your engine number? I can look it up to see what it was when it left our building.

There is no number tag where the factory serial # normally is. Where would SBT 's # be?

Try a different compression Gauge, it had 140 and 140 when tested for shipping.

Also use a fully charged, perfect battery when testing.
