  • Flooded engine, do I need to change counterbalance oil?

Let friend use Ski and he sucked up rock. He waved down a boat and towed it back to Marina. We didn't realize engine was flooded with water and we waited 2 days to chisel rock out of impeller. Does the counterbalance oil need to be changed now that we got it started?
    It's a 99 GTX Limited 951 engine.
Also engine was full of fresh water for 48 hours it was then run hard for 2 hours, do you think this would cause any damage?

Was damage doe? For sure, but hopefully it's minor. Just keep a vigilant ear on the sound of the motor, and do compression checks a few times a years.

Your CB oil does not need to be changed. It's in a separate sealed cavity. But, if you ever decide to pull the motor, change it.

Someone told me water will have flowed backwards into carbs and they will need to be removed and drained does that sound right? Seems to be running fine. Any additives that will remove water?

If it's running fine, then it's fine. The best way to remove water from fuel is draining the tank and putting in fresh fuel. Use fogging oil after you ride to keep any left over water off the bearings.
