951 silver ingesting water help!!

i have a 99 gtx limited it is ingesting water it runs on land then when put in the water it just sucks in water and dies can anybody give me any ideas of what could be causing this thanks

head pipe leak at the manifold?? Have you had the pipe off recently?

no i just bought this thing from a guy at my marina and it looks untouched but he did say that he had a couple guys look at so im not sure. he did replace the head gasket and thats all i think.his mechanic told me the rear cylinder compression is low and that could be causing it. thanks for the response any other ideas?

do a compression test yourself and let us know the #'s. It could be a plethora of things.
1) bad exh gasket at head pipe
2) rusted pipe causing water to spray into carbs
3) bad exh gasket(s) at manifold 2 cyl connection
4) cracked cyl
5) bad head gasket, improperly installed
6) bad base gasket
