  • Oil Change

I would like to change my oil on my 2000 Sea doo GTX ME. I've been running Pennzoil TC W3. Bad yes I know!! However; I want to now run Sea-Doo XP-S 2 Stroke Synthetic Oil. Do I somehow need to drain all the oil from the engine. And if so how?

    Re: Oil Change

Use an oil extractor to suck it from the crankcase and the oil tank. Watercraft superstore sells them 1866-957-9277.

        Re: Oil Change

The GTX is the 951, there is no 2-stroke oil in the crankcase. Just suck the tank and oil lines dry. Make sure you bleed / prime the oil pump before you fire it off with the new oil.

Which motor is in you ski. I know my sister's GTX is the ME, and has the 787 RFI, yet one of my uncles has another one with the 951 CARB motor. which motor do you have?

            Re: Oil Change

The ME should be RED. The GTX-RFI should be green/gold. The GSX is also red, but with an RFI or carb'd motor.

Eonpoint, there is a difference, if you have a 787 motor, then you do have oil in the crankcase...

the GTX we have is green, but is the ME. it has the 787 RFI motor. But, one of my uncles has another ME and is blue, and this one is the 951 CARB motor, same as in the RX and XP.

Eonpoint - check the sticker where you pull the seat off and see what family the engine is in. should say 951.2 if its the 951

Eon, my original post was correct then. There is no oil you have to worry about in the crankcase for this procedure.

A green ME?? You have the International version. I take it you didn't buy it new? It was never meant for sale in the US... Probably originally from Canada, or Japan. That's where most of the international's are meant for.

Eon - The bleed screw on the motor is on the front of the oil pump, which is on the front cover of the engine. I believe it is a 10mm head.

Dan: We bought the ski from my cousin who lives in Birmingham, and he Bought it new in Pelham, Alabama. They bought it new at the end of 2000 and sold it to my sister for cheap since it needed a top end rebuild. I am curious now on how it was sold in Alabama though. I will look into this!
