  • Painting the jet pump.

Well, I got the wear ring installed, replaced the impeller shaft seal, removede remnants of the old wear ring, which was aftermarket, and looked to be the wrong size etc. I have cleaned all parts, and of course all the paint on the pump/nozzle etc is gone! To be thorough, I thought I might as well re-paint all the pump parts to retard corrosion. So, what type of paint would be recommended for this task? I was going to use good old rust-oleum gloss black, but decided to double check to make sure.

    Thanks again,

Rustoleum is a good product. I personally use Merc Black marine paint (Mercruiser), but will break out the can of rusty if I run out.

I decided to go ahead and use rustoleum, lucky guess on my part, now all I have to do is put it together.
